Zest Recipe Manager app good for
The best iPad recipe manager !
All it needs is a web version so that I can enter my existing recipes and add new ones.
Its a little tedious having to do it all on the iPad.
Very easy to use. Seems to import from a lot of websites and the ones it doesnt support still very easy to copy the instructions into the app. The only thing that it doesnt do that I would like to save recipes to specific category.
This a great app. Includes the ability to sort,
import from web, add your own recipes and photos. Cant believe no one has rated this app yet.
Awesome app for keeping track of online recipes. I use it all the time on my iPad in the kitchen. This is the first time Ive written a review -- Im amazed more people havent praised this app. Thank you for it.
Some bad moments
Everything works great. They did a great job with the ability to connect to other sites. It would be nice if it also synced with the iPhone. I do not think there is an iPhone app but that would be nice. Thank you! Just what I was looking for.
This is the best App for importing and organizing recipes. It works flawlessly.
I really needed to organize my recipes, and this app worked like magic. Very easy to add recipes from the web, make adjustments, or simply add your own. Same goes for pictures and comments. Now I have my recipes in one place, and they are beautifully presented and easy to find. Love it! Im just begging for an iPhone version because it would make it the best recipe organizer out there. I didnt know it didnt have one until too late, so I can only see the recipes on the iPad.
One other suggestion: allow for customizable tabs! Thanks!
I love this app! Its very easy to use and I can add the recipes I want from the web. This is my "go to" app for cooking in the kitchen.
The app looks good for the most part and the manual recipe entry is nice which lets you copy test directly from the built-in browser to the proper category such as ingredients, instructions, etc. Some suggestions to make this the best recipe manager would be: automatically quantify the ingredients list so that the app can implement an adjustment for serving sizes. The ingredients list can be laid out better; a long item just wraps the text into the next line with no indentation or other cue to whether the line is an ingredient item or just a continuation of one item. The numbers for each instruction should be aligned to the top instead of vertically centered. In the Cook view mode, the text should be formatted better. As is, it just looks like its displaying text in Windows Notepad.. Scrolling up and down to view each step currently jumps immediately to the next step. It would be nicer to add some transition such as swiping for better presentation.
Im not a professional chef, nor do I typically leave reviews, but this app was precisely what I hoped for prior to downloading it.
The best feature is the Import from Web functionality, which opens a browser window within the app to pull information directly from any web page into sections like Ingredients and Directions.
Once imported, the ability to sort recipes by tag or ingredient is useful. I also like the ability to toggle the Cook mode, which strips away all other functionality and allows users to focus on the necessary information at hand - Ingredients and Directions.
From what I can tell, their development team is working on a Shopping List feature. This would be super useful, though Id almost rather see the app integrate with existing list apps (like AnyList) rather than develop something custom.
